Your Views and Getting Involved
Community Trust Housing (CTH) has an open approach to residents' participation and communication. As the residents' lead organisation, we encourage and support residents' involvement and will work with them through our residents resource centre within The Community Trust.
CTH will ensure that residents get the information they need and that this information is clear and in a format that suits them. This will include information about all the services they will receive and the standard of those services and their obligations as residents.
All this information will be clearly written in plain English. Translations will be made available for main language groups. Interpretation and translation facilities will also be available.
In all the Trust's communications every effort will be made to ensure they are appropriate to the need of their intended recipients in terms of use of medium, its timing, its accessibility and its clarity of information.
Residents' involvement in decision making has been an important goal for CTH. The Trust is keen however to ensure that resident participation is not seen as an end in itself and believe that involving residents should be within the context of:
- the development, delivery and review of the services they receive as part of CTH's approach to continuous improvement;
- developing knowledge, skills and capacity to enable them to become more influential in dealings with the Trust;
- enhancing transparency of decision making and accountability to residents; and
- encouraging and supporting residents to become more actively involved in tackling social, economic and environmental issues which will benefit the communities in which we work.
Any resident of CTH can get involved. Options vary from your right to become a resident representative on our Board of Management to simply giving feedback on a particular issue that concerns you.
If you'd like to get in contact and get involved, please visit the contacts page for more information.
